Making herbal iced tea at home is super simple—and no fancy tools are needed! You probably already have everything in your kitchen. It takes just a few minutes to brew up a whole pitcher in your favorite flavor. And if you want to make it look extra pretty and fun, try adding some Edible Flower Ice Cubes—they’ll take your iced tea to the next level!
For the longest time, I avoided making iced tea because I thought it would be a hassle. But once I tried it, I realized it’s actually quick, easy, and totally worth it—especially on a hot summer day. Now, it’s one of my favorite things to make when the weather’s warm.
What You’ll Need
You don’t need much to make a refreshing glass of herbal iced tea:

- Herbal tea bag: Pick your favorite flavor. I love using unbleached, eco-friendly tea bags—Clipper’s orange and turmeric blend is amazing!
Bonus: You can also use fresh herbs like lemon balm or pineapple mint for a garden-fresh twist. - Filtered water: You’ll need some hot water for steeping and some cold water for the pitcher.
- Ice cubes: Regular ones work fine, but if you want to impress guests (or yourself!), use Edible Flower Ice Cubes or even Blood Orange Ice Cubes for a pop of color and flavor.
Equipment
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Tea kettle (or any pot to boil water)
- A mug or measuring cup (8 oz or larger)
- A 1-quart/liter pitcher
- Glasses for serving

Tips & Tricks
- The darker the tea, the less visible your pretty ice cubes will be—so keep that in mind.
- Use one tea bag for a light flavor, or two for a stronger taste.
- Flower ice cubes are great for impressing guests (or just brightening your own day!).

Fun Variations
Want to mix things up? Try these:

- Add fresh herbs or sliced fruit into the pitcher
- Use flavored ice cubes, like blood orange or berry
- Add a splash of non-dairy creamer for a creamy twist
Storing Your Iced Tea
Keep any leftover tea in the fridge—it’ll stay fresh for a couple of days. If you’re sipping throughout the day, you can keep adding ice, but just know that it might water down the flavor a bit.
